Never a dull day in public affairs! Questioning the First Minister on his NHS reform plans, catching up with the Health Secretary Neil Gray MSP then a wee drive through to BBC Scotland to feature on Scotcast with martin geissler. They said they liked talkers and they certainly got one!

1/🎉We're celebrating 20 years of the World Health Organization (WHO)'s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control! It’s been key in helping cut smoking rates around the world & saving lives. We're proud that the UK has been signed up since the start & we remain committed to fighting tobacco harm!🚭🌍

Grateful to the Cabinet Secretary Neil Gray MSP for meeting researchers at our parliamentary event last month and highlighting it in his speech in the Chamber last week. Scotland punches well above its weight in cancer research and we want to see that continue into the future.

First Minister John Swinney visited CRUK Scotland Inst where he met volunteers and heard from university and charity leaders about the future of cancer research. His visit came as it was announced Scottish scientists will co-lead a global project to improve the treatment of bowel cancer.

Thank you to all the brilliant researchers, like the ones at the Cancer Research UK Institute in Glasgow that I visited today, who work on new cutting-edge approaches to curing cancers. Early detection of cancer is key, which is why we must continue supporting research and innovation.

A brilliant day at CRUK Scotland Inst today with Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney, Iain Foulkes and Owen Sansom 🏳️🌈. It was great to meet with some of our amazing volunteers and researchers, and hear about all the incredible science that’s going on in Scotland.
