The Duchy of Lancaster, which owns the coastline from Barrow to the River Mersey, charges the publicly-owned ferry a yearly fee for mooring at a pier on Duchy land.

Watercolour reconstruction of Liverpool's Herculaneum Pottery works: Toxteth Park. The date c.1815. Opened 1793/4 and closed in 1841 - to later become the site of Harrington Dock. The work is in part based on material in the excellent blog of Jim Kenny. wp.me/p2XyHv-2AF
