Another successful University of Plymouth seagrass survey on the Yealm with Teledyne Valeport VA500. Third year of annual monitoring. USV Yellow Pig still doing us proud. New deep learning tools under development with HydroSurv & Innovate UK. Thanks @Plymmartech & Adam Bolton

Great to spend the day walking the coast with some of our new University of Plymouth MSc Hydrography students for this year. A lovely bunch and Plymouth scenery at its best! MarineSciencePlymUni

We are taking 30 cm sediment cores of the atoll island and conduct permeability tests at the field station to quantify the hydraulic conductivity - essential for modelling overwash. Note fresh overwash in one of the pics. Coastal Processes Research Group Plymouth Research

How lucky are we to work with #Landsat imagery in #Australia?! a reviewer (Floris Calkoen) on a recent submission rightly pointed out how uneven the coverage of the #Landsat archive is, see figure below from sciencedirect.com/science/articl… preprint discussion at essd.copernicus.org/preprints/essd…

An early start to capture HW at #Penzance this morning as part of #CreamT project with @Wirewall_NOC and #B_Scan getting very wet. Should be an excellent dataset for improving CoastalHazards SWEEP forecast. #StormEunice University of Plymouth

A nice animation showing the bi-modal #wind climate of the #Maldives using 20 years of measured wind data. Interestingly the shift in wind direction due to the #monsoon happens really abruptly, over just 15-20 days.
