Dry bean producers and processors have a reason to be optimistic in the new year! If dry conditions persist in Mexico for a second year.....who knows?

Derek Demian A. Gallego Dry Bean World Inc Who the heck is this guy? Alvin is talking facts, not emotion. We have had our own share of frostd and drought right here in the 'developed' world. Do you think we could feed Mexico better if we cried about their drought instead of doing our best to produce?

5.25 inches of rain on dry beans laying on the ground can have a big impact on quality if the weather doesn't turn favorable right away.

I grew up with a party line and the only people that called us were the ones that we gave our phone number to, I can only imagine what it would be like today to have a service provider who doesn't share your phone number with everyone in the world!

We're 10 days away from the date set for the implementation of Tariff',s. I hope the raging fire from a month ago has died down to a nice friendly marshmallow roasting experience!

Dry edible bean planting has progressed very quickly this spring in central North America. Initial conditions are good but moisture will be needed in many areas. Demand is starting to increase and in turn we hope to see stronger prices for growers.

For the most part seeding is done and now we become weather reliant. Hoping for some rain in many parts.. with lower seeded acres and dry conditions, the industry is becoming slightly concerned.

After last night's storm where I live, we've had 4.2 in of rain in the last 3 weeks. 0.6 three times, 0.8 once and 1. 6 last night. Three episodes of small hail, really did not do any damage! With intense heat, we can expect radical storms! Could be a wild summer!

Sunday crop tour. Isolated areas on lighter gravely soils are dead. Much of this vein has been mined. Never pushed a tassel. 3.2” since May 20th at one local gauge. My yard is similar. Most of the 3.2” came on the night of June 18th when strong tornadoes and winds tore across ND.

White Mold is rearing its ugly head and the conditions are extremely favorable. I recommend having your fields scouted and doing what you can but with only preventative fungicides we may have a problem!
