Does anyone see this as a problem? I'd love it if MCP servers didn't have to implement auth. It's just all OAuth, can we not just standardize on some auth gateway approach? Just assume you get some headers or something.

Really interesting read from AWS about why OAuth and dynamic registration is important for the goals of MCP: aws.amazon.com/blogs/opensour… I love a couple things about this: 1. MCP is bigger than Anthropic and has buy in from other big players like Amazon 2. Dynamic client

The silent leader in becoming "MCP-first" across tech companies seems to be... Amazon! This was a surprising thing I heard when talking to SDEs at the company. It's happening rapidly: thanks to Amazon already being API-first it's also "easier" to do. Via newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/software-eng…

I want to meet London-based AI-maximalist startup founders and set them up with our AI chief of staff Ideal time to apply is just after you raised a seed round and are looking to "professionalise" (i.e. no bank accounts, accounting, HR setup yet) DMs open - next onboarding

I legit have not had this much fun building software in years I've always enjoyed it, but the agentic coding has brought a new energy to it. Can't really put my finger on what it is, but I think part of it is that the barrier to entry to some tedious tasks has just lowered.

Don't use floats for timeouts, use a the type that's most appropriate, in this case Duration, because it's a fucking duration and no a random float without a unit.

If you build an AI agent/chat app, your app should be able to be configured via the model. (and yes I know Claude products don't do that either)

Was away from X for a while. Lots of catch up to do. In the meantime, MCP now has a bit more formal governance process on how to propose changes and a more formal set of decision makers, that will help the project scale. See github.com/modelcontextpr…

Someone’s (maybe Theodora Chu) quote: “if we took a shot every time David is swearing in the meeting, we’d all be hammered 15 min in”

The last one was a smashing success so we're doing it again, but in London. So I guess I'm going to London, it's been a while. I don't think I've been since pre-covid.

Say what you will, the UK government websites are hands-down the best. Everything is accessible online, the design language is consistent and clear, and the tools are focused on exactly the job.

How this actually went down: Malte [12:42 PM] MCP server for grep.app would break the internet ----- Dan [05:33 PM] Grep now has an MCP server. It should work in Cursor with... 🤯

Most impressive MCP I've tried lately - large diffs overwhelming and hard to review. This is a cool way to help the coding agent reason better and makes it easier to understand what the coding agent did Amazing work Graphite! 🎉
