A lot of DCB Junior League games, Durham City CC Women & Girls away in the Cup to Norton and I the Sunday league. Looks like being another hot one - pack the factor 50 and plenty of water. All Stars Cricket starts next Sunday so what are already busy days will become magnificently manic. 🏏

Wow and wow. Durham City CC Women & Girls 1st XI through to R2 of the national T20 cup after an amazing batting performance backed up with commanding bowling and fielding. And tonight nearly 360 runs in a T20 (another great deck from Geoff H), with 101* for Timmy N from just 44 balls. 🏏 💪🏽

Congratulations to Littletown CC who were better than us in all depts last night. Runs for Erik M & wickets for Ethan H were some consolation for City. Over at Palmers Close the u15 girls had a fantastic win with 53* for Amulya V and Grace O & Lee E spearheading the bowling. 🏏

Another great evening of DCB Junior League games for the U9s & U13s. Whilst U9 Blues had a night off the U9 Golds had a close one on the wonderful Durham School ground.Durham University Cricket Club were at Green Lane but the 13s had fun playing at Kimblesworth C.C and on their travels. A lot of top 🏏.

The barmy balmy weather continues and tonight we welcome Gateshead Fell CC women’s team to Green Lane for their T20 fixture with our Durham City CC Women & Girls 1st XI. U16s are at Hetton Lyons CC for the Pattison cup final with Whitburn C.C. and we have Jnr nets in the sun. Wonderful. 🏏 ☀️ 👌

Three great wins yesterday. Zaina A led the way for the women’s 1st XI with 64* & Erika N’s 4 for 8 saw City home. The U12s won large with big runs for Sam, Arthur & Louie and 4/3 (!) for Noah. And last year’s U15s completed a clean sweep of all leagues and cups with Jim T POTM.

1st XI went down to a 2nd defeat of the season despite 6 wickets for CBC and another 50 for Joe T. 2nd XI were triumphant on the road with 69 runs and 3 wickets for Ethan H the pick amongst a strong performance by everyone to secure the win with 5 balls to spare. 🏏 👍

We have two U15s games on tonight plus an U13s game for our Durham City CC Women & Girls team and the U9s are in action in the MP Rush competition. Go well to all. 🏏 😃 Apologies to Littletown CC that our U15s White team was shy of players and we have had to concede that fixture. 🏏 😞

Two great wins for the 3rd team in two nights. The mixture of youth and experience getting on nicely. And 3 great U13 games on Wednesday - two wins and whole lot of experience gained. Go well to our Durham City CC Women & Girls 1st XI who welcome Shotley Bridge CC to Green Lane tonight. 🏏

Great win last night for the Durham City CC Women & Girls 1st XI - Poppy P & Sam P in the wickets and runs. Later today 1st XI are away at Mainsforth Cricket Club and 2nd XI host Brandon Cricket Club. No livestream - battery issues, replacement on the way. 👌 to CBC for a spot on last week’s board.

The opposition have just conceded so there will be no 2nd team game today at City. 😞 The 1st XI are warming up at Mainsforth Cricket Club. There is a little bit of drizzle around. Hopefully we won’t be delayed.

Points for both snr teams today, albeit in very different circumstances. 1st XI were on top form at Mainsforth. The two Georges and Ben S were excellent. CBC took 4/26 and Jim T took 4/6. Joe T 55* led the response. Lots more photos of today’s game on the club’s Instagram page.

After the amazing run of dry days the rain is back and beginning to have an impact. Tonight’s 1st XI T20 fixture at Philadelphia Cricket & Community Club is OFF as is the cup & league double header for the U15s with Eppleton CC. We did need rain, just had a bit too much last night for the squares to be fit.

Whilst other games have been cancelled tonight, the redoubtable midweek 3rd XI are going ahead with their trip to the seaside to take on Marsden Cricket Club. Go well to all. For those whose games are off there will be nets at Green Lane from 6pm.

Our U19 girls are away at Hartlepool CC this evening in the National Cup - always a great game between two good sides and the weather is set fair. U13 Blues host Sunderland CC at Palmer’s in the Washington Cup and it’s U9, U11 & U13 nets at Green Lane. Go very well to all. 🏏 ☀️ 👌

2nd XI post 229/7 from their 45 overs over at HunwickCC with runs throughout the scorecard but top billing to Amithab T with 63. At HQ play-cricket is off today but Dawdon Welfare CC have posted 150 all out. The chase starts soon and the livestream - albeit without scores - is on.
