Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. A day to stand up against oppression and harm. A day to remember that diversity has always existed in our communities. We can no longer tolerate the hatred. Hate is not in our teachings.

Alberta now has more measles cases than the entire U.S. - 1314 here vs. 1288 there. This outbreak is the result of a government that refuses to take public health seriously. Albertans deserve leadership that protects our health - not division and distraction.

On this day in 1978, the Longest Walk began—a 3,200-mile march from Alcatraz to D.C. Native leaders and allies raised national awareness, defeated anti-tribal bills, and secured the American Indian Religious Freedom Act. NCAI honors this legacy and ongoing fight.
