IMO the most important talk at #IASP2022 Carmen Green on disparities in healthcare & treatment of pain due to race, ethnicity, gender, income. US examples but health inequalities are stark in UK too.

The more time I spend at #IASP2022 the more I realize how much dedication there is among clinicians and scientists from all over the world as part of IASP Pain Research Forum. So much hope and enthusiasm to alleviate pain🎈🎈

The second plenary speaker is another of the most influential pain researchers today, tor wager : "Chronic pain is *created* in the brain". Very thought-provoking lecture! #IASP2022

Great workshop on pain, substance use disorders and suicide: need for improved integration of mental health assessment tools and pain assessment / treatment. So many opportunities to gain both increased pain and mental health outcomes. #IASP2022

What an inspiring session from Mary Cardosa, Michael Nicholas, Zubaidah Osman and Jimmy Barus on implementing a model for effective multidisciplinary education in Southeast Asia (and likely the world!). A challenging project delivered effectively across three countries. #iasp2022
