A blustery start to the pre-conference tours out at the Auchenharvie engine house, then exploring Caprington's engine oddities. An intriguing afternoon at in West Lothian with Friends of Kinneil and Kinningars Park, Bo'ness. Back Summerlee Museum the preparations continued #IEEC3


Steaming up bright and early - a delightful welcome to Day 1 of the 3rd International Early Engines Conference Summerlee Museum #IEEC3

Day 2 of #IEEC3 kicked off with a recap of Day 1, including the evening reception in the machinery hall at Summerlee Museum, and wonderful photographs of the Farme Colliery Newcomen winding engine by Ian Castledine. A packed agenda of early engine research followed #earlyengines


#IEEC3 delegates depart Summerlee Museum on a beam engine house tour, led by Steve Grudgings, calling at Prestongrange Museum, Devon Colliery (Sauchie), the Boulton & Watt engine site at Kennetpans distillery by the Forth (discussed on Day 2), and on to explore Culross with local experts.
