Lakes Entrance’s Eagle Point is part of a complex & spectacular waterway. Silt jetties, Jones Bay & Macleod Morass, & islands extending to the horizon. Careful management & partnerships w/ 40 groups has seen wildlife & vegetation thrive, even with a 14cm increase in water levels.

Another 50 fish habitat structures have been installed in the Snowy River. This has been a joint effort, and we value the contribution of the Marlo Angling Club. Made possible through funding from the Australian Government’s Fisheries Habitat Restoration Program.

Yippee, spring is just around the corner, and the wildflowers know it, with some already coming into full bloom. 🌷🌹🌼💐 Here are a few wildflowers we have spotted while out and about undertaking water quality testing in the Far East. #springishere #fareastwildflowers

The Lake Tyers estuary is currently closed to the sea but as the levels in the lake are high, it is expected that it will open naturally following the next rainfall event forecast for later this week. We will continue to monitor water quality and water levels within the estuary.

So pleased people braved the weather and came along to our Snowy Estuary community event last week. We talked about our Snowy River estuary environmental flows study and Arthur Rylah Institute demonstrated electrofishing, a technique to study and monitor native fish. #ARIScience
