Favorite #rmarkdown trick I’ve learned recently: in your chunk options, eval does not have to equal just TRUE or FALSE. You can set it to a Boolean variable of your own creation, meaning chunks can be evaluated on a conditional basis, depending on what’s in your data 🎉

Researchers (Burns et al. 2023) developed AI models to predict hotspots for shark interactions with longline fisheries globally- interactions were not necessarily concentrated in areas of high fishing but clustered in locations predicted by environmental and ecological factors.
