A dream come true! Incredible to accidentally flush a Nightjar at Spurn with this morning before the Spurn guys managed to relocate it sat on a tree in full view! Always wanted to see a day roosting Nightjar. Absolutely beautiful 😍 Spurn Bird Observatory



Swilly today. 85sp 1 Hobby, 4 Avocet, 15 Ringed plover, 1 Dunlin, 4 Little-ringed plover, 1 Garganey, 1 Red-crested Pochard, 3 Cuckoo, 5 Bearded tit, 4 Bittern, 4 Black-necked grebe, 1 Caspian gull, 1 Grey partridge, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Garden warbler, 1 Gropper Swillington Ings Bird Group







Fairburn ings 1030-1600 Great reed warbler, 19 Spoonbill, 6 Cattle egret, 3 Great egret, 1 Marsh harrier, 1 Bearded tit, 2 Black-necked grebe, 1 Green woodpecker, 2 Black-tailed godwit, 4 Little-ringed plover, 2 Common sand, 1 Green sand, 1 Dunlin, 14 Avocet Fairburn Ings Bird Group


2 hours to get 1 of the 2 female Marbled whites to settle for longer than a few seconds at Hetchell wood, Leeds. Hopefully they are just a bit late here since this time last year I had 20+ Butterfly Conservation 🦋


Lovely day at Swilly today. 1 Common scoter, 5 Common sandpiper, 4 Avocet + 4 chicks, 1 Black-tailed godwit, 1 Black-necked grebe, 1 Water rail, 2 Little-ringed plover, 1 Bearded tit, 2 Mediterranean gull. Also 12 sp of Butterfly including 3 Essex skipper. Swillington Ings Bird Group


Nice couple of hours at RSPB Blacktoft Sands and the Humber this morning. 2 Spotted redshank, 1 Ruff, 4 Green sandpiper, 20 Black-tailed godwit, 2 Snipe, 6 Bearded tit, 6 Little egret, 1 Yellow wagtail, 1 Spoonbill, 4 Marsh harrier, 1 Water rail, 4 Wigeon, 2 'Polish' Mute swan cygnets.


Incredible afternoon North Cave Wetlands 3 Mediterranean gull, 4 LRP, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Hobby, 4 Egyptian goose, 3 Little owl, 1 Bittern, 1 Dunlin. Also Otter, Fox, Willow emeralds, Purple Hairstreak, Brown argus, Essex skipper, Hornet moth.
