Day 1 in Skiathos, Greece. Not a birding holiday I did manage to do some each day mainly at Strofylias lake in Koukounaries which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. 19 species in an hour with highlights of 2 Eleonora's, 2 Eastern olivaceous warbler, 3 Spotted flys, 2 Scops owl

Day 2 in Skiathos, Greece. 3 hours at Strofylias lake got me up to 33 species. 3 Eleonora's, 2 Bee-eater, 2 Eastern olly, 1 Night heron, 2 Red-backed shrike, 4 Alpine Swift, 2 Pallid Swift, 4 Red-rumped Swallow, 1 Turtle dove, 1 Lesser Kestrel, 1 Eastern Subalpine warbler.

Day 3 in Skiathos, Greece. Trip into Skiathos town. 2 more added to the list total now at 35 species. 1 Common Buzzard, 3 Sardinian warbler, 1 Night heron, 1 Grey heron, 2 Eleonora's falcon. Also a Black Swan.

Day 4 in Skiathos, Greece. Strofylias lake and coastline. List to 43 sp 1 Lesser grey shrike, 6 RB Shrike, 2 Golden oriole, 1 Night heron, 1 Little Bittern, 4 Whinchat, 6 Spot fly, 27 Scopoli shearwater, 116 Yelkouan shearwater, 1 Little owl, 1 Marsh harrier, 5 Sardinian warbler

Day 5 in Skiathos, Greece. Strofylias lake List now on 47 species. 1 Nightingale, 2 Black-headed bunting, 3 Golden oriole, 7 Spot fly, 4 Red-backed shrike, 5 Alpine Swift, 8 Red-rumped swallow, 4 Eastern Olly, 1 Eastern subalp, 1 Scops owl, 4 Eleonora's falcon, 3 Whinchat.

Day 6 in Skiathos, Greece. 7 hour boat trip visiting beaches and Kastro, Skiathos old town. Now on 50 sp. 5 Crag martin, 1 Blue rock thrush, 8 Alpine Swift, 6 Eleonora's falcon, 4 Sardinian warbler, 2 Eastern Subalpine warbler.

Lovely couple of hours in Roundhay park after work. The main highlight was a Brown argus (patch life✅️) Also 1 Common sandpiper, Cygnets, Mandarin duck and ducklings, 2 Kingfisher, 1 Buzzard, 4 Grey wagtail, 8 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff, 1 Jay, 1 Great spotted woodpecker

A dream come true! Incredible to accidentally flush a Nightjar at Spurn with this morning before the Spurn guys managed to relocate it sat on a tree in full view! Always wanted to see a day roosting Nightjar. Absolutely beautiful 😍 Spurn Bird Observatory

Day 7 in Skiathos, Greece Strofylias lake and coastline BROWN BOOBY (decent views before getting more distant), 1 Little Bittern, 1 Little owl, 6 Red-backed shrike, 4 Eastern olly, 2 Bee-eater, 7 Sardinian warbler, 14 Scopoli shearwater, 1 Golden oriole, 1 Scops owl, 3 whinchat

Swilly today. 85sp 1 Hobby, 4 Avocet, 15 Ringed plover, 1 Dunlin, 4 Little-ringed plover, 1 Garganey, 1 Red-crested Pochard, 3 Cuckoo, 5 Bearded tit, 4 Bittern, 4 Black-necked grebe, 1 Caspian gull, 1 Grey partridge, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Garden warbler, 1 Gropper Swillington Ings Bird Group

The SONG SPARROW showed well at times this morning at Flamborough. Lovely to see my first American sparrow and even better that it was in Yorkshire!

The Ortolan bunting was showing very well almost constantly for 40 mins as soon as we arrived at Wykeham forest. Also bonus Tree pipit and Goshawk

After the Ortolan at Wykeham we headed over Bempton for a couple of hours. Other than the usual there it was nice to hear a Lesser whitethroat singing from the overflow car park.

Went for seconds of the Ortolan bunting with Fozzy today at Wykeham forest. Also there were 2 Honey Buzzard, 3 Crossbill, 1 Tree pipit and a Red-legged partridge to keep us entertained while waiting. Then spent some time with a couple of Turtle doves.

Started off at Rimac for the Savi's warbler which showed well after a while. Then to Frampton marsh for the Collared pratincole which was on show almost all the time and gave some lovely flight views. Also 19 Spoonbill, 8 Spot redshank, 1 Hobby, 1 RC Pochard, 9 Med gull, 5 Ruff

Fairburn ings 1030-1600 Great reed warbler, 19 Spoonbill, 6 Cattle egret, 3 Great egret, 1 Marsh harrier, 1 Bearded tit, 2 Black-necked grebe, 1 Green woodpecker, 2 Black-tailed godwit, 4 Little-ringed plover, 2 Common sand, 1 Green sand, 1 Dunlin, 14 Avocet Fairburn Ings Bird Group

2 hours to get 1 of the 2 female Marbled whites to settle for longer than a few seconds at Hetchell wood, Leeds. Hopefully they are just a bit late here since this time last year I had 20+ Butterfly Conservation 🦋

Lovely day at Swilly today. 1 Common scoter, 5 Common sandpiper, 4 Avocet + 4 chicks, 1 Black-tailed godwit, 1 Black-necked grebe, 1 Water rail, 2 Little-ringed plover, 1 Bearded tit, 2 Mediterranean gull. Also 12 sp of Butterfly including 3 Essex skipper. Swillington Ings Bird Group

Nice couple of hours at RSPB Blacktoft Sands and the Humber this morning. 2 Spotted redshank, 1 Ruff, 4 Green sandpiper, 20 Black-tailed godwit, 2 Snipe, 6 Bearded tit, 6 Little egret, 1 Yellow wagtail, 1 Spoonbill, 4 Marsh harrier, 1 Water rail, 4 Wigeon, 2 'Polish' Mute swan cygnets.

Incredible afternoon North Cave Wetlands 3 Mediterranean gull, 4 LRP, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Hobby, 4 Egyptian goose, 3 Little owl, 1 Bittern, 1 Dunlin. Also Otter, Fox, Willow emeralds, Purple Hairstreak, Brown argus, Essex skipper, Hornet moth.
