- primary legislation (such as practice vs research) - associated legislation (employment law) - the Courts (medicolegal negligence) - the GMC (FTP decisions) All of this has developed over millenia. If you are new profession, somebody else needs to set scope, 2/

Because you do NOT share an understanding, either intra- or inter-professionally or with the public. Nobody understands what you do. There is NO legislation that defines boundaries. Or case law. Or FTP. Because these things don't exist. No boundaries = unsafe for pts.
