On BBC Radio 4 Sunday a DfE spokesperson said that RE trainee numbers are up — true, due to the bursary they’ve now scrapped! The rise proves incentives work. Removing them will undo the recovery.

As Department for Education have cut the £10K training bursary for RE, I appreciate this question from Lord Shaun Bailey in House of Lords “What work are the government doing to make sure teachers have the confidence and the training to deliver this curriculum properly?” NATRE
