Sadly this is holed beneath the waterline by an utter failure to grasp basic planning. “Exclusive analysis … shows … the top 10 housebuilders … are sitting on 700,000 plots, many of which have planning permission.” The last part of this sentence is doing a lot of heavy lifting

Good piece on the employer/ee compromise for a long term WFH balance. It has a US angle but in the tight UK labour market the same Qs are being asked. The implications for mid-quality office space locations might be significant. bbc.com/worklife/artic…

Interesting, do people have an opinion on whether this is primarily due to talent, co-location, regulation/ access to regulators or where inventors and spin outs happen to be from?

The new reservoir for Cambridge is currently not scheduled to be completed until 2039. That is slower than the Aqua Caligula, an aqueduct built by the Emperor Caligula, a man who made his horse prime minister.

The most important thing about this amazing Paris transformation is how fast it happened —how fast people on bikes “appeared” —once streets were transformed. You can’t write this off as “#Paris was always this way,” because it wasn’t. It took leadership.
