Unclear definition of the problem it seeks to solve, insufficient evidence, lack of successful piloting, no clear implementation plan, insufficient resources to implement, and important gaps in areas including wellbeing, SEND, smartphones, media and more. Baroness Barran has

Very well said Diana Barran The government's proposed Schools Bill is ideology over substance. It masquerades as a Bill concerned with children, when in reality its main aims are centralisation and control. There is "an unclear definition of the problem it seeks to solve".

Bridget Phillipson Your Schools and "welfare" bill is about control, not the wellbeing of children. You are trying to social engineer the education sector by taxing education and forcing children out of schools. You are the biggest threat to our children's futures in decades.

No shame in learning outside school, No need to bow to every rule. Respect our path, don’t legislate — This Bill’s agenda stops debate!

This is why we home educate. Every child is individual, the way they learn is individual as is the pace they learn at. They all reach the end goal, but if you ask them to all to reach the end at the same time many will fall along the way.

Each local authority publishes its own policy on elective home education, usually on their website. As a home educator, make sure you are familiar with it so you know your rights. #homeeduk

"Under this bill, committed parents risk being criminalised for failing to meet complex, unrealistic requirements. That’s not safeguarding—it’s state overreach."

Do you think unqualified people from cash strapped local authorities are better placed to make decisions about SEND children than their own parents? No? Then sign this petition. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7165…

The very heart of why we started our home ed journey. Through creating our own pathway designed around how our child's brain works, she started to reconnect with learning. #homeeduk

Neither will she engage with the home education community and listen to why we choose this option. She just uses the rhetoric of "safeguarding" as she knows this automatically gains support without finding out what procedures are already in place and how home ed actually works.

When a Local Authority makes contact, we always advise home educators to respond, even if it’s to say no thanks to an offered meeting. Failure to respond to LA communication could in time result in the local authority serving a school attendance order. #homeeduk

One size won’t fit — our kids are unique, Forced into schools? That’s not what they seek! Choice and support, not power and force, Let parents and children chart their own course!

Do MPs actually understand the detail and purpose of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill or are they just swayed by the government’s key words of wellbeing and safeguarding?
