Stats like this are why I believe that it is imperative that we expand on our Pre-K Programs in DISD. Early childhood education is critical to later workforce/college readiness. We need to be doing all we can to ensure all children have a solid foundation. Every child can learn!

According to Forbes, “Texas uses fourth grade reading scores to project the number of prison cells they're going need 10 years later.” Knowing this, I believe that adults should be at the forefront of ending the pipeline to prison which eliminates opportunity for students.
