In Year 6, we recently looked at using this method when subtracting from a 00s number- first subtracting one from each number to prevent lots of regrouping, as it often leads to mistakes.

The children made models of scenes from World War II on Friday, including Auschwitz, The Munich Agreement and Operation Vulcan. Tied in nicely with Holocaust Remembrance Day Auschwitz Memorial

Finally getting round to posting the children’s work from a few weeks ago. They really enjoyed working out the Chocolate Bar Problem from NRICH maths using their knowledge of fractions and percentages. Some of them even continued the problem themselves at home!!
