Government admitting closing Hospitality is a balancing act, therefor hospitality should get a beefed up rescue package. It costs 6-7k per month to keep my pub closed.. I have two of them, so (12-14k per month ) A 2k grant doesn’t touch the sides. How many can absorb this?

Hey! Are you a tied pub looking at going MRO due to COVID-19? Following on – have you recently been refused a COVID-related MRO by your pub co? DMs open! RTs super appreciated!

Announcement on the Tiers tomorrow now ? How could you ever think this is right Boris Johnson ? Have you any idea what chaos you are causing ? Why did London get notification ahead of plan ( not that it was helpful for London ) but the rest have to wait an extra day? Joke!

In terms of the #Tiers review announcement tomorrow, we’ve been told by a source that councils will be told at 10am & the public at 11am. Very nervous times for thousands of #pubs & #publicans & their families. What a way to treat people & businesses a week before #Christmas

Can we save the British pub and the hospitality sector with minimum alcohol pricing, VAT fairness for supermarkets, pub protection, the loss of beer ties and more? Well, we think so. We hope @DavidEvennett takes this to the top. Please RT if you agree - its a scandal!

My monthly overheads for being closed are probably going to be around £12,000. The Government grant is £2,000 a month. That’s £48,000 versus £8,000 Govt support if we are closed until spring. I’ve not earned anything since March. Now see the problem for business? Campaign for Pubs

It’s shocking we are being treated like this....mine is £11,000 per month WITH a rent reduction, not to mention all the debt not yet paid from last time! How do they expect us to manage on £2,000!! It is not acceptable #PubsMatter

This is a massive issue for our sector Rishi Sunak - there will be a catastrophic failure of hospitality businesses at the end of the lease forfeiture moratorium unless the government intervene. Many landlords offering to take zero of the pain for forced closed businesses. 👇

Pub Tenants: Despite its name, the Pubs Governing Body has no legal standing or responsibility for “governing pubs”. It follows that it has no legal right to “agree the “suspension of rent review negotiations”. Your tenancy and Landlord & Tenant Law determines your rent reviews.

Lockdown 3: #NoPubNoRent is still a live issue requiring exposure. Some pubcos/other owners doing the right thing. Others still demanding full/slightly reduced rents.

🍻 to James Hurley and The Times and The Sunday Times for a great piece on the discriminatory withholding of #Covid #rent support by large regulated #pub companies from tenants who have escaped the #beer tie. Full rent charged throughout the entire pandemic. Campaign for Pubs thetimes.co.uk/article/free-f…

Campaign for Pubs is for the little publican or brewer and those punters who want them to survive and thrive. We have no large commercial interests. We run pubs. We need you to join to support our strong voice. Only £25 per annum - all funds into campaigning.

Stop this outrageous #discrimination @KwasiKwarteng Amanda Solloway Paul Scully against #pub tenants who’ve simply exercised the legal rights YOU gave them! It’s unfair & immoral that @starpubsandbars are charging #MRO tenants FULL rent despite being closed. Disgraceful Heineken! 😡

RENT DEBT By 17 May 2021, due to government enforced lockdowns and curfews, we will have been allowed to open (part time) for just 12 of the 60 weeks since 23 March 2020. Yesterday we received a bill for £323,809.32 rent arrears at Milk & Honey. The government has done nothing.

So we've had a bit of fun today, but unfortunately, there are some serious stories unfolding here of increasing threats to independent businesses in our industry. (Thread)

Siren Craft Brew (@sirencraftbrew) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This is clearly a cynical attempt by a big brewer to use the pandemic and their size to cut choice for the consumer and pursue their own agenda. It's pretty ugly. We have witnessed weight and resources being thrown around to oust independents before, but this is a low point.
