It is an honour to have participated in the high-level session with 🇱🇷 lawmakers at the Capitol to advocate for SRMNCAH to be prioritized in national policy & planning, budgeting, and legislation, to curb maternal & newborn mortality in 🇱🇷 as part of UN H6 mission.

UN partners and CSOs/private sector stakeholders have emphasised the need for one plan, one budget, and one M&E for SRMNCAH service provision in 🇱🇷. This is one of the asks from the UN H6 engagement with CSOs.

H6 mission consultations with CSOs, FBOs & private sector to identify strategies to enhance SRMNCAH services in 🇱🇷, stressed the need to empower youth-led CSOs to drive CSE in communities and strengthen accountability in service delivery for mothers & newborns. WHO Liberia

The message from the legislature was clear: to reduce maternal and newborn deaths, we must do business differently. Timely disbursement of MOH funds, targeted allocation to impactful interventions, and instituting accountability mechanisms to ensure efficiency.

H.E. the President of the RL acknowledged the alignment of the H6 findings and recommendations with his government's ARREST agenda. Maternal & child health is in a state of crisis, & his govt is determined to transform society to improve MNCAH in 🇱🇷.
