🚨📢 Our new study now out in Psych Med! Cambridge UP - Psychology & Psychiatry We tested if networks can predict depression treatment response with N>40,000+power analysis, controlled for baseline severity & variance, and benchmarked the effect size to simpler metrics 🔽 cambridge.org/core/journals/…

I think this habit nudging approach to exercise makes 2 critical mistakes (why exercise typically stops when the incentive ends). 1. Regular exercise depends on goal-directedness not habits & 2. Exercise does not have to be enjoyable (follows from 1) re Strava's runner's paradox

🧠 New preprint from my lab shows that midfrontal theta connectivity, measured via EEG, is a reliable marker for cognitive control and general cognitive abilities. Higher connectivity during response-related processes = higher cognitive abilities! doi.org/10.31234/osf.i… (1/3)

Excellent balanced review comparing habit definitions, measurements, and theoretical models across fields. Key question: are outcomes represented in habits? I appreciate the nuanced discussion on S-R vs S:R-O vs S:O-R structures. Crucial read for understanding habit complexity!
