Thanks Jill Newby! Always cheering me on and full of encouragement! So grateful to have been mentored by such dedicated staff UNSW Science, both in research and clinical training. What a gift!

I had an AACBT student membership for 4 years - incredible value for $55/year. Such useful and high quality CPD (online and local pub talks) and great conference too!

Dear anxious inner critic, I know you are in pain & that you are trying to protect us. Despite your criticism, I hold you in kindness & wish for your well-being. Your vigilance and fear is not your fault. You can rest now. We've got this. With love, Compassionate Self.

If you have non-binary/agender/genderqueer kids in your household, and you're filling in the Australian CENSUS for them, please ask them and support them to reflect who they are. Here's how. Please, please, please retweet.

Great article on the social determinants of mental health, the trouble with shifting the onus to individuals, and being priced out of mental healthcare. google.com.au/amp/s/amp.theg…

We’ve now shown that it’s feasible to deliver 7-day intensive CBT for both social anxiety (⬇️) and panic disorder (doi.org/10.1016/j.inve…) via an online course. Combining two novel ways of delivering treatment: intensive/massed therapy + internet interventions 🌟

An inspiring read: “He sees clinical psychology as an exercise in public health. “Arguably, the biggest cause of human misery is miserable relationships … conducted in miserable circumstances,” he has written.” theguardian.com/society/2021/s…

My clients & students don't know how often I am blown away with appreciation of them as human beings. I'll leave a Zoom session and hear myself say, out loud, "What an amazing person!" I'm really grateful for them, honored to be their psychologist, and moved by their hard work!

Here's an update to a previous drawing of the #stressbucket I have added community connection to the healthy coping tap. I feel we need to move away from centering individualised approaches to distress. The trauma trigger tap is a different take on how our buckets can overflow

Shocking piece by a PhD student now leaving Australia in The Age, about "the truly broken system in which researchers are expected to work in Australia”. theage.com.au/education/aust…
