See how the solvent fine-tunes the chiral self-sorting of a coordination cage! Alexandre Walther reports in J. Am. Chem. Soc. how individual DMSO or MeCN molecules form H-bonds between neighboring ligands, selecting for a specific isomer. @GRK2376 Solvation Science doi.org/10.1021/jacs.4…

Results of a beautiful collab with Thorri Gunnlaugsson Dublin and C. Stein TU München #JustAccepted in Angewandte Chemie 🎉 Elie Benchimol Helen O'Connor Nicola Bogo show a Tröger base Pd2L4 cage as small chiral host inducing CD on fullerenes GRK2376 "Confinement-Controlled Chemistry" Solvation Science doi.org/10.1002/anie.2…

🚨#JustAccepted in Angewandte Chemie🚨 Our PhDs Elie Benchimol, Bjorn & Nicola Bogo, in collab with Helen O'Connor ⚗️, developed chiral nano-capsules that bind fullerenes (C60/C70), inducing circular dichroism via host-guest interactions. Congrats to Clever Lab & all involved!

Happy to see our #justaccepted first work on Troger cages out in Angewandte Chemie. Putting fullerenes with high symmetry in chiral cages results in circular dichroism on the fullerenes. Great collaboration between groups, grateful for all the help provided. GRK2376 "Confinement-Controlled Chemistry" Clever Lab 🎉🧑🔬

Delighted to have this work out from my time TCD School of Chemistry with Thorri Gunnlaugsson funded by a GOIPD Research Ireland! A very fruitful collaboration with co-first author Elie Benchimol, and Clever Lab and Stein groups, and my first * author paper! Many thanks to everyone involved

Our work on an endo/exo switchable pseudo-cubic cage for adaptive guest binding is now live in Nature Chemistry. Big thanks to the support of Jonathan, @TanyaRonson, Andrew, @PaulaTeeuwen and everyone else involved in the project! nature.com/articles/s4155…

We found a new catenation mode of Pd4L8 interpenetrated double cages: instead of a classic D4-symmetric dimer, the staggered structure has C2h symmetry, stabilized by non-covalent interactions. Just out in Angewandte Chemie Support: RESOLV Solvation Science DESY (Deutsch) doi.org/10.1002/anie.2…

Just when best Brudi Elie Benchimol moves to the Netherlands I go away!! Big news coming soon 😍😍 #TeamFigure8 #CleverFamily

Thrilled to see the second chapter of my thesis just out in J. Am. Chem. Soc. Multicage systems start to show properties with the segregation of guests in their respective cavities. Funded by GRK2376 "Confinement-Controlled Chemistry" and in collaboration with my friend Andrea 🧑🔬🧪🕺🏻
