"The support of those who advocate for us to work on Country is invaluable, but... Limiting our relationship to mere stakeholders instead of decision-makers who can actively heal and grow and tend to the health of Country, is continuing to colonise." djadjawurrung.com.au/the-ugly-truth…

More frequent fire erodes the diversity of both soil seed banks and extant vegetation in ‘fire tolerant’ eucalypt forest types with greater impacts in forests with historically longer fire return intervals. With ⁦⁦Dr Tom Fairman⁩ ⁦Craig Nitschke⁩ mdpi.com/2571-6255/7/4/…

New paper led by Chika Tada (her 1st! 👏). She barbecued seeds stored in canopy cones, to see how different combinations of hot, cool, and/or long fire affected their survival. We found these seeds are very tolerant to fire but not to hot + long fire. fireecology.springeropen.com/articles/10.11…

Despite being the fourth-largest wildfire in California history, the Park Fire has resulted in mixed fire severity effects in some areas, similar to what would be expected from a #goodfire . Oaks are resprouting just two months after the fire
