Can ocean acidification affect the microbiome of larval oysters? In our latest paper we show it can!! Exposing mum and dad oysters to ocean acidification, caused different bacteria to live in their offspring. Read more here 👉 protect-au.mimecast.com/s/HW0cC4QO9DSV…

What the actual…?!? Neither PetStock or Wag appear to be on twitter but shame on you both. Also, Wags website claims to sell 100% sustainably sourced products - and how exactly were the shark fins sustainably sourced?!?

Marine pathogens are affected as the oceans warm and the climate changes.. If you work in this space we’d love to hear about it. #AMSA23

Just published: doi.org/10.1098/rspb.2… Under Ocean acidification (OA), both the larval and juvenile stages of Hong Kong oysters show directional dissolution, i.e. the earlier formed shell layers undergo dissolution at first, owing to longer exposure time.

Scanes et al. found that heatwaves caused an increase in bacterial growth, that may influence oyster mortality. Acclimated oysters were less susceptible to pathogen load and more likely to survive. Read the full text: cell.com/iscience/fullt… Dr Elliot Scanes UTS Science
