A multiplex-qPCR developed by Catherine Satzke's team with other clinical researchers including empyema-loving Josh Osowicki... Improved pathogen diagnosis in 61% kids, and would have reduced untargeted antibiotics by a median of 20 days. Nice #AMS! journals.plos.org/plosone/articl… @MCRI_for_Kids

I'm voting YES on 2 in Massachusetts. We're 1 of the only states that prevents students w/ significant disabilities who satisfy all local graduation requirements from receiving a real high school diploma if they can't pass a test. This is discrimination, and it's personal to me.

The Economist is endorsing Kamala Harris. By making Donald Trump leader of the free world, Americans would gamble with the economy, the rule of law and international peace. Voters who minimise the risks are deluding themselves econ.st/4fluZAw šŸ‘‡

Got a lovely email from ASM thanking me for 20 years of membership. I've attended their conferences, published in their journals, and received travel funding from them when I was an early career researcher. I'm grateful and encourage all to support sci+med societies

In a cluster-randomized trial in Vietnam, a two-dose PCV10 vaccination schedule was not inferior to the routine three-dose schedule in preventing vaccine serotype carriage in infants and toddlers. Full trial results: nej.md/3Zkg2JQ

Very happy to share our new study out today in NEJM, showing fewer PCV doses are non-inferior to standard schedules in maintaining control of vaccine-type carriage in Vietnam. This could make vaccination programmes much more affordable for LMICs. nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…
