If you are a Gulf War illness patient, a victim of water contamination, a 9/11 responder, a poisoning victim, ME/CFS patient, or long COVID patient... Know that the most influential academic who dismissed your symptoms as psychological (despite toxic exposure) is being honored.

Oh my word. Today I chatted with a colleague who is head of governors at a local school. As he was talking about the school, he said, "we're struggling to keep up, so many staff are off sick now, I don't think we're ever going to get over covid". But...

Sometimes I just nod and listen, but today I said, "no, they're sick more because Covid infections make people more vulnerable to other health conditions. It's just science. That's the way it always is when someone gets a covid infection."

It's always worth reminding yourself that parliaments and government buildings and the WHO headquarters and billionaires all quietly got themselves clean air systems while publicly denying the need for clean air.

A reminder of what Maria said repeatedly denying the AIRBORNE nature of transmission…. ….and a reminder Mike Ryan feared the use of the word would create a “panic” and would entail use of precautions he decided the world didn’t need to bother with just yet. A reminder that

My friend, the doctor, says right now everyone is getting sick. My friend, the teacher, says right now everyone is using AI. My friend, the activist, says right now everyone is giving up. My friends, oh my friends, right now we must not be everyone.

I am openly critical of Long COVID researchers that do not mask publicly; that sign on to "back to normal / learn to live with COVID" messaging because in my mind, this is far more harmful to people living with Long COVID than any benefit their research has given us. To be blunt

We are at the point in Ontario where every child with fever and rash regardless of its appearance gets swabbed. It is very disruptive to running an office and is why our pandemic precautions are still in place. This one surprised me. 🫩
