Climate activists are sometimes depicted as dangerous radicals. But the truly dangerous radicals are the countries that are increasing the production of fossil fuels. Investing in new fossil fuels infrastructure is moral and economic madness.

"When people ask me, ‘What can I do as an individual about the climate?’, I reply: ‘Don’t be an individual - work together with others,” says Rupert Read, co-director of the Climate Majority Project. euronews.com/green/2024/07/…

Great article by Anja Murray in Irish Examiner Still trying to remove it from my garden and wish I had never introduced it. This and three cornered leek are the worst! irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/outd…

Today is Earth's Overshoot Day. The day that marks the date when humanity's demand for ecological resources and services in a given year exceeds what Earth can regenerate in that year. If we all lived and consumed like we do in Ireland, we would need over THREE planets.

Completely agree. Can't believe this stupid legislation is still in place. Detrimental to our dwindling biodiversity. Ragwort and thistle are incredibly important plants.

This is one of Ireland's most beautiful Nature Reserves: Derryclare in Co. Galway. Like all our Atlantic rainforests, words, or even images, cannot do it justice. Also, like all our native forests it's under pressure, but here there is at least some good news...

Really important campaign to hand over the Gearagh to the National Parks and Wildlife Service . Currently it's owned by ESB. I read the book Saving Eden by Kevin Corcoran in 2022, it's an unforgettable read and an incredibly important book. The Gearagh should be an National Park

Don't post here often but really enjoy plant or insect appreciation posts by Ireland's Trees & Mythology Fiona and Donna Rainey Adding this to show what I get up to during the day. #WIP and unfinished #nettles for an illustration job I am currently working on.

We were shocked - All the cattle in the fields by the badgers were tb free only housed dairy had bTb. The only bodily fluid that was leaking btb was the slurry. Btb was living in it and being spread around the country . It’s stays live for at least 6mths plus…. Yes six months …

Shocking and yet not shocked either. The amount of racist language people feel it's ok to stick into random conversations. Says a lot about Ireland today when people feel they would be better off in Palestine

Israel knows it can commit war crimes with impunity. That is why it has launched its largest assault on the West Bank since 2002. We are witnessing the total erasure of Palestine - and our government is shamefully complicit. End all arms sales to Israel, now.

Shocking to see so many cigarette butts around Luas stops. Inevitably they blow into the canal and into the sea. @Transdevir

Tiny harvests today from my urban allotment in Inchicore. I always feel lucky to have an allotment and it's probably the only reason I can still live in a city 💚 DCCParksBiodiversity

Don't Tidy the Garden too much this Winter: Leave the leaves. Leave the pesticides on the garden centre shelf. Leave the deadheads on the flowers. Leave the hedges to grow out. Then there will be more food left for the young Wrens in the Spring...
