Mercury (Hg) contamination is a global health concern. Cardenas & company found that Hg is present at high concentrations, even in pristine lakes in the Andes. They report seasonal changes in Hg behavior, with impacts on biotic uptake! The full story: doi.org/10.1071/EN24088
