I quite like this memory model from Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) particularly the distinction between facts, concepts and procedures. A very helpful way to think about how learning happens.

Delighted to see this paper published today. In it we see Irish maths teachers say “grinds” are driven by exam pressure, income needs & systemic gaps. Most teachers provide grinds to supplement pay but some worry it worsens inequality & masks deeper issues in maths education.
