In our new 'high-throughput' SIP-metaG paper, @nuccio, Anne Kakouridis rachelhestrin et al. targeted the tiny habitat surrounding AM hyphae. They IDed 13C fixed by the host plant, moved by hyphae and taken up by a complex micro food web of bacteria and AOA. rdcu.be/c0sK3

They’ve recreated a star, on earth. It’s so so cool. Proud to work at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (even though I do nothing at NIF but stand in awe) Congratulations!!

By developing a semi-automated pipeline to apply robotics to the process, researchers found HT-SIP reduced labor to one-sixth that of the manual process while processing dozens of samples simultaneously. Dr. Jennifer Pett-Ridge Erin Nuccio jgi.doe.gov/supercharging-…

Another paper finally out. I almost gave up on this one, but I'm glad I didn't. It's almost my last with the Firestone Lab , but hopefully not even close to that with Dr. Jennifer Pett-Ridge and Erin Nuccio . journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/ms…

Soil meta-transcriptomes: a gift that keeps giving. Yrs ago Erin Nuccio & I ran an expt w/ rhizosphere - detritusphere soils & sequenced mRNA Joint Genome Institute. Am thrilled to be leading "Terraforming Soil", a Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Energy Earthshot Research Center focused on biological and geological solutions to accelerate scalable, affordable #carbondrawdown in the United States’ agricultural soils.

Happy #InternationalWomen'sDay! Today, we're celebrating the women who are Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) users. Among them are a group of women who led a project looking at how drought alters the benefit of fungi to the plant host. Learn how you can become a user: bit.ly/3v1QkgW
