Kicked off #ESS2025 with an impactful presidential plenary panel of experts working to prevent displacement! Prof. Loretta Lees 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇮🇪, Willow Lung-Amam, and Dominic Moulden offered their powerful insights on activism, scholarship, and how they can converge in community-based practice.

Another incredible presidential panel at #ESS2025 focused on the politics of dissent. Diane Wong, Heba Gowayed هبة جويد, and James Jones examined dissent and consent in the current political climate, and how sociologists and academics can dissent to interrupt cycles of oppression.
