The Estes group was recently at the most neutral place in the world (neutron source at PSI in Switzerland). Looking forward to seeing some great neutron scattering data!

If you’re at the Wissenschaftsforum in Leipzig, go check out Sarah‘s poster about Atom-Transfer reactions catalyzed by immobilized Cu complexes.

I was a teaching assistant during my PhD for Prof Brus 13 years ago for his Gen Chem class and I’ve been saying ever since „when is this guy going to get his Nobel“. Congratulations Prof Brus! Very well deserved!

Our new IR spectrometer got installed in our new glovebox today and the group can’t wait to try it out. Finally feel like a real SOMC group! Thanks CRC1333 !

Sometimes it’s the little things that my PhD students do that impress me the most (the subtle genius of doctoral students)

In our newest paper, we show that Proton-Electron Transfer from CpCr(CO)3H to CeO2 is a good model of hydrogen spillover! Check out the full paper here: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… CRC1333 Van Slageren Group

Congratulations to Erik on our newest paper in Organometallics. Erik showed how preequilibria are important for forming active catalytic intermediates and why you should always report concentrations and not just equivalents of ligands for catalysis. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

I’m happy to be able to finally share this collaborative work within the CRC1333 where we use neutron scattering and molecular dynamics to understand how solid surfaces change the rate of forming acid decomposition. Check it out! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

Congratulations to Michael and everyone else involved on our new paper where we show that hydrogen spillover on ZnO and ZrO2 occurs from strong hydride donors like DIBAL and Strykers reagent. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art… CRC1333
