Congratulations indeed, Serene Ong! It was a real privilege to read your thesis and grapple with your new ‘relational responsibilities’ account, drawing on qualitative research in Singapore to provide a novel ethical justification for disclosing genetic info within families.

Really enjoyed having the formidable Jamie Webb visiting NUS Centre for Biomedical Ethics last week. He provided a very engaging analysis of the concerns of turning to AI to make micro-level resource allocation decisions. Followed by another great dinner at our usual post-talk haunt, Samy's.

The Australasian Association of Bioethics & Health Law's Empirical Bioethics Stream is under new management! Myself, @Supriya_S5, Hilary Bowman-Smart, Yves SJ Aquino, MD, PhD and Nina Roxburgh (She/Her). Congratulations to Lovro Savić, a future leader in the philosophy and ethics of public health. Lovro passed his PhD at the Ethox Centre with no corrections. Very proud supervisors w/ Mark Sheehan and thanks to Angus Dawson and michael parker for examining. Papers to follow!

At Brunel University of London for the 24th International Conf on Nursing Ethics. Gave a plenary on our research in the The impact of redeployment on nurse well-being, just published in the International Journal of Nursing Studies. And made a case for prioritising work on the ethics of staffing as narratives of "workforce crises" in healthcare proliferate

Fantastic panel, and an honour to share a platform with such esteemed leaders in nursing studies. Lots more to discuss about priorities in nursing ethics across Asia, Helen Chan !

Our new series, "Stories from the Field", launches with this fascinating discussion between Supriya and Jane on career paths and journeying into empirical bioethics research. Just one of the many new outputs planned by the Australasian Association of Bioethics & Health Law Empirical Ethics stream team!

Great to work with Nan Liu, Duke-NUS and his Duke-NUS team on this review paper just published in the The Lancet Digital Health. A whole-of-Singapore effort involving many of us working to improve ethical practice in the deployment of #GenAI in health contexts locally.
