On July 23, 2024, EUCORD handed over a storage facility to Téliré community #Guinea in presence of local authorities and ten farmer groups. The aim of the store is to reduce post-harvest losses of new onion varieties introduced with support from the Achmea Foundation.

Le 23 juillet 2024, EUCORD a remis un magasin de stockage à la commune de Téliré #Guinée en présence des autorités locales et dix groupements de producteurs. L’objectif est de réduire les pertes post-récolte des variétés d'oignon introduites avec l'appui de la Fondation Achmea.

Last week EUCORD & Energy 4 Impact presented the PURE.Ag project during a field day organized by GIZ Rwanda, the German Machinery Rings Foundation & Volkswagen. The project aims to improve farmers' access to solar water pumps through results-based financing.

During a visit to Ruhango District with EU Delegation to Rwanda we met #Digne Manufacturer Ltd, a sunflower processor, and CODERIKA, a cooperative involved in tomato production. Both organizations are receiving support from EUCORD and Rural Development Initiative(RDI) as part of the EU funded #Kungahara program.

The 1st PROFARM Steering Committee was held with EU Delegation to Rwanda, Rwanda Agriculture & Animal Resources Devpt Board Ruhango District Gicumbi District Burera District and Rural Development Initiative(RDI). PROFARM promotes an integrated farming system to enhance agricultural resilience and nutrition security for smallholder farmers in #Rwanda.

Visited a seed multiplication cluster in Gumer woreda, Gurage zone, with Groupe Soufflet , Heineken, and EUCORD. 69 farmers (15 women) produce a #maltbarley variety on 42 ha, expecting 3.5 t/ha yield. Part of IFC BOOST II project, implemented to expand barley in #Ethiopia.

Today in #Kayonza , EUCORD and Energy 4 Impact held a workshop with 13 cooperatives using solar irrigation systems under the #PURE.Ag program supported by #Endev , assesing solar equipment, engaging with leaders in sustainable farming and planning for upcoming demonstrations.
