Get a cup of coffee and listen to Hannah Ritchie (Our World in Data; Uni Oxford) explain in 12 minutes how we can solve the climate crisis. We have the means to do it. But we must overcome the powerful resistance by those who benefit from the current fossil fuel system.

Hey Canada, can we finally take an ax to inter provincial trade barriers? What a great made-in-Canada way to mitigate risk from US tarrifs. Also, it's just ridiculous that one side of Canada can't buy products from the other side

Canada may be just too late to carve out significant market share in battery manufacturing... But dang look at this EV sales data from IEA. What is that, 5 BYDs or NIOs sold for every Tesla or BMW?

Great example of the need for a common set of FACTS, so we can understand what problem we're solving, and then propose solutions. Skipping facts in the name of politics... who does that help?

🚨🚨America's electricity grids can already power ~100GW of new data centers (4 Stargates, or $2T of AI investment)! The catch? Data centers must provide modest flexibility in power use during rare peak grid events. My take Council on Foreign Relations on the STUNNING @Duke report by Tyler Norris

Heads down, doing the work while ignoring the headlines. Blackstone has raised $5.6 billion for a fund dedicated to investing in the energy transition... the fourth of this fund strategy and a third larger than the last one.

I've recently seen an uptick of folks recycling old arguments that scientists are "manipulating temp records". Thankfully we set up a pristine monitoring network (USCRN) to ground truth what is actually happening. And it has actually shown faster warming:

Follow the money, in this case, the private sector EV spending, specifically fleets. With Shanu Mathew post, could indicate greenhushing, actual reduced priority, or ideally, that a topic like EVs has achieved escape velocity from "sustainability" to just normal "operations"

First bullet of the Lazard LCOE 2025: "On an unsubsidized $/MWh basis, renewable energy remains the most cost-competitive form of generation. As such, renewable energy will continue to play a key role in the buildout of new power generation in the U.S. This is particularly true

Great thread about the opportunity and value of virtual power plants (VPPs) for everyone who uses electricity in USA right now (!) VPPs give us a way to benefit from the last 50yrs of technology development to deliver more reliable, cheaper, cleaner, and more local electricity.
