Great news for astronomy: The Chandra X-ray telescope, which was in budget danger, has apparently been saved for an extra year. Houray ! And hoping that it will be saved for many more years! #savechandra

We have a telescope!🤩 Last week, summit staff successfully installed Rubin Observatory's combined primary/tertiary mirror. With all three mirrors & the commissioning camera in place, we officially—for the first time in 15 years of construction—have a complete telescope!🥳 🧵

Be sure to look west after the sunset through this week to get a chance to see the brightest comet in a decade (for the northern hemisphere) !

I wrote a short note on why Athena X-ray observatory and it's amazing X-IFU instrument will be revolutionary for supernova science ✨ But also for the way we view and analyze our spectro-imaging data ! More below 👇

In the last weeks, I participated in the installation of mirrors on the telescope LST4 of the northern array of CTAO in La Palma . A really nice experience of building things 💪 (I'm usually behind the computer all day )

In November last year I participated in the installation of 198 mirrors on one of the largest optical telescopes of the world, the CTAO large telescope in La Palma. Fun time !
