A new substrate for #nitrification by #comammox microbes: #Guanidine So glad to see this out in nature today – great collaborative effort from our @FWF Cluster of Excellence, Universität Wien, team Aalborg Universitet, and UFZ nature.com/articles/s4158…

Now out in Nature! As a collaborative team with people from Treutlein lab, Fabian Theis and Gray Camp, led by me, Leander, Jonas (josch1@bsky), we generated the so far largest integrated cell atlas of neural #Organoid with comprehensive characterization nature.com/articles/s4158…

Glad to share our paper "Overlooked Vital Role of Persistent Algae-Bacteria Interaction in Ocean Recalcitrant Carbon Sequestration and Its Response to Ocean Warming" just published at Global Change Biology Global Change Biology , doi.org/10.1111/gcb.17…

Trick bacteria with light! It took us a very long time to publish this work, but perseverance and teamwork prevailed. @ Ryan McQuillen Xinxing Yang @ Amilcar Perez @Malcolm Winkler @ Erin Goley @ Kumaran Ramamurthi nature.com/articles/s4146…

Archaea goes multicellular by Alex Bisson , awesome new discovery & biophysics! science.org/doi/abs/10.112…

Is the genome just a bag of genes? A new paper in Science Magazine now reports that for two thirds of an organisms' genes the position along the chromosome is actually very tightly constrained! Amazing work from my favorite night scientist Martin Lercher and his team!

Thanks Archaea Power Hour for giving me the chance to talk at the APH next week. Look forward!
