SOS call for Goldsmiths, University of London Leadership. The savings gained at end of July will be spent, and then some, by October. By then, it will have been cheaper to do nothing. It is illogical. Making big decisions in a panic never leads to good outcomes. A final call: please think again.

A beautiful concert last night: Ex Corde Vocal Ensemble singing pre-Reformation English music. There are compositional skills in that music that we just don’t have any longer.

"I don't like 'Duck Soup' (1933) so much...I never chose to shoot this film. The most surprising thing about this film was that I succeeded in not going crazy, for I really did not want to work with the Marx Brothers: they were completely mad." --- Leo McCarey

Xenakis’ Terretektorh! Wien Modern tonight! It’s music I have always wanted to hear live and now, thanks to the ORF Orchester conducted by Ingo Metzmacher, I have been in the midst of a fabulous performance!

Interesting development. Arts Council England cuts companies that tour and then offers £5m of loans to companies that want to tour. What happens when the loans are (or perhaps aren’t) repaid?
