The students are always on our side sending a clear message to the uni. In 20 years the uni will tokenize this movement as ‘proud history of student activism’ and not mention that they are going to send police in to brutalize students. University of Melbourne we will never forget.

At 8:07 this morning protesters participating in a sit-in in Arts West/Mahmoud’s hall were awoken by a message over the intercom notifying them that the building was unsafe, that they were trespassing, and were liable to be face academic sanctions and police intervention.

BREAKING: NTEU UniMelb Branch health and safety representatives conduct OHS report in Mahmoud’s Hall and find the University’s statements to be groundless. The University of Melbourne are manufacturing occupational health and safety risks in order to justify removal of protestors.

Last week, I read about one of the bleakest uses for gen AI I've seen yet: First Horizon Bank is rolling out a system to detect when a call center worker was on the brink of "losing it"—and play them an AI-made montage of family photos set to their favorite song to calm them down

First Horizon reached out to say that after trialling the program, it decided not to adopt it. It was "tested, delayed based on feedback and the[n] ultimately not deployed." Either workers hated it enough for them to kill it, or backlash from all this bad PR did. Outrage works!
