Kicks Karate of Frederick paid a special visit to BCES Elevate. Students couldn’t have been more excited to learn from Mr. London and Mr. Nick! Not only did they learn the basics of karate but they learned that karate teaches them to be kind, humble and have self control!

We had one exciting week at BCES Elevate! We began with an AMAZING visit from Shanda McCloskey who shared her process of writing books and taught us how to draw her characters Doll-e and T-Bone the Drone! The students LOVED her!

What a beautiful sight today! The laughter, the smiles and the sight of happy children having pure fun!! Water day was a success at Elevate today!

It’s been reptiles and slime this week at BCES ranger camp! Add a hike on the Ballenger Creek trail and you have one incredible week of authentic learning!

Hikers need some binoculars and flashlights to find some cool creatures! #BcesElevates

Slime Time with Mad Science of DC! Slime Olympics was a hit! Who knew different amounts of activator affected your Olympic results!

Stop comparing kids to each other. We know many kids are behind from where they are “supposed to be.” Instead compare kids to themselves. “Yesterday you called out inappropriately 5 times. Today 3 or less.” Better today than yesterday. Better tomorrow than today. #ThatOneKid
