My family both needed and donated stem cells. It is often someone’s chance for life when all other options fail. Consider becoming a donor if you can. We honestly owe our life to a stranger ❤️

Really interesting research involving patients & carers demonstrating that meaningful treatment targets for #eatingdisorders likely transcend specific treatment approaches. Wonder how effectively these factors are addressed in current first line therapies!

Day patient services for those with ED are vital and need funding prioritisation. The best nursing role I’ve been lucky to have - supporting people near home in a flexible & intensive way to help achieve their QoL goals felt truly recovery focused.

Happy place for me - teaching Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) for #eatingdisorders in Cumbria to some fab NHS teams from Northumberland, Tyne & Wear. Love introducing this evidence based psychotherapy model to help teams treat more patients with AN.Amazing venue!

Loved this discussed with Phillipa Hay and really made me reflect on the emphasis on weight in #eatingdisorders treatment which can exclude so many from help and discourage others. Emerging evidence shows that distress/impairment transcend weight categories!

Fab having CAMHS #eatingdisorder team lead Laura Rayner on campus talking to our MH nursing students today about all things MEED & family work. Bonus that she’s also an amazing Practice Assessor for our students on placement 🥳 great joint working Hampshire and IOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Health Sciences, UoS 👏

We are recruiting clinicians in eating disorder services to think about barriers and enablers for implementing autism affirming care e.g PEACE Pathway . If you would be willing to be interviewed over TEAMS there is more information and sign up here! edinburgh.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0d…

Really important interview - eating disorder services are already woefully underfunded, a place where there is so much neglect but yet services are being cut again! Wes Streeting how can you let this happen on your watch?

Amazing to be back in my home trust teaching staff from IoW eating disorders service about using Specialist Supportive Clinical Management for their clients with #anorexianervosa. Great collab between Hampshire and IOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust & Health Sciences, UoS in promoting evidence based care in #eatingdisorders

Loved this conversation around the overspecialisation of eating disorders and how this perpetuates a cycle of unhelpful silos, stigma & limits resources and funding. EDs are under-diagnosed and research shouldn’t be relegated to “specialist”publications, we need more awareness!
