TAVI in emergency. Higher volume centers provide significantly better outcomes regarding in-hospital mortality and complication rates as well as resource utilization parameters. #ESCCongress #ESCAbstract « bigger is better »

Stroke after TAVR: still ongoing problem with a poor prognosis . Higher mortality . Earlier timing of post-TAVI stroke was associated with increased mortality . Timing and incidence of stroke did not change (2007-2018). #ESCCongress #ESCAbstract

Effect of TAVR Generation on Conduction Abnormalities - Is Newer Always Better? Newer TAVR valves . reducing perivalvular regurgitation, . increases the risk of LBBB . without increasing risk need for pacemaker. #ESCCongress #ESCAbstract

We have learned a lot from these trials that helps to focus revasc. Please remember some balance? 30% of OMT group in COURAGE & 25% in ISCHEMIA HAD to undergo revasc (mainly pci) for intractable angina. That’s after the patients with the worst symptomatic angina were excluded.

#ESCCongress European Society of Cardiology #FRAME_AMI 📩FFR guidance of non-IRA in patients w AMI & successful PCI of IRA decreased all cause death, MI, repeat revasc 7.4 vs 19.7% 📩Unplanned revasc didn’t reach statistical significance altho lower FFR 📩Less stent>less revasc>less ST

summary slide of evidence for mechanical circulatory support. RCTs limited to 201 patients so far with no mortality reduction.5 matched comparisons all showing more complications and 4 higher mortality!!! @susannaprice chief Mamas A. Mamas Sean van Diepen

Davide Capodanno European Society of Cardiology I would also add the TAVR-CMR trial (Late-Breaking Science Session on Imaging). The first randomized comparison of a CMR-guided TAVR approach compared with a CT-guided TAVR approach. Ivan Lechner

#ESC25 #SimPub: DOUBLE-CHOICE RCT : In transfemoral TAVI, a minimalist approach (local anesthesia only) was non-inferior to standard conscious sedation for 30-day safety/efficacy. Holger Thiele Mohamed Abdel-Wahab ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.11…

Glad to interview my great friend Mohamed Mohamed Abdel-Wahab immediately after his great talk at the very first Hotline session. Electric vibe at the main arena! Congrats Mohamed on this remarkable work, now published in Circulation @PCR European Society of Cardiology #ESCCongress2025
