ILLINOIS: Homeowners & renters are tapping into funds that can help repair or replace property that was damaged by the July 13-16 storms. Funds can also be used to pay hotel costs for those who were displaced from their homes, even funeral costs for deaths caused by the storms.

ILLINOIS: If you received @FEMA assistance after the floods in St. Clair County in 2022 or Cook County in 2023, you may have automatically been enrolled in a Group Flood Insurance Policy. This means you may be eligible to file a claim for damage caused by the July 13-16 storms.

ILLINOIS: We're rolling out disaster recovery centers where you can speak with our staff and get help applying for FEMA and SBA assistance. DRCs are currently open in Belleville, Cahokia Heights, and Kewanee. More opening soon. Find a location at fema.gov/drc.

ILLINOIS: Fraudulent activity increases after disasters. Remember, FEMA staff will always wear an official ID and will never ask for money or payment to help you apply for assistance. Call 800-621-3362 if you have questions about a visit from someone claiming to be from FEMA.
