Thank you Professor Donna Chambers 😊 It was an absolute honour to be invited to be a panelist and speak at the Generation Delta Careers event and such a pleasure to be surrounded by such lovely, intelligent, ambitious women of colour.

Wake up. Check news. Check on family & friends. Cancel plans that feel unsafe. Make sure kids at home by 1pm. Wear shoes I can run in. Avoid eye contact with anyone who could be a threat. Relieved that there is an anti-fascist rally. Heartbroken that this life right now.

1. Born in Edinburgh, I left the UK for Nigeria in 1979. I returned as a newly qualified doctor in December 1992 with my medical degree in one hand and my British passport in the other. My sisters met me at Heathrow Airport with a jacket (against the cold).
