Tim Crane's brilliant review of Chalmers's Reality +. Worth reading alongside this ultra negative response by David Bentley Hart bit.ly/3PO6qR0. Big questions! @timcrane102

Some wonderful papers at the recent BSPR conference. Philosophy of religion is really thriving, and i feel honoured to be president for the next year. First task: planning next September's conference on Love, Religion, and God.

Brilliant seminar by Akeel Bilgrami which reminded me of what great philosophy is and how it can be done with just a blackboard.

'When the young men returned from war, with their analytic methods and their disdain for mystery and metaphysics, our four friends were ready with a joint 'No!' Finally reading the brilliant Metaphysical Animals. Thanks to Sarah Coakley for a fabulous gift!

I loved writing this paper, and was really inspired by a wonderful paper by Patrick Sherry (amongst other things and people!).

Two brilliant things I have discovered recently: (1) Brad Gregory's 'The End of Macro-Narratives of Progress? History, Christian Theology and the Anthropocene; (2) Cat Power sings Dylan: the 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert.

I'm really happy to announce that I'm taking up a post at the University of Nottingham from August 1st. Starting properly in January after a fellowship at the University of Florida, and I'll be HoD for 3 years, working with philosophers and theologians. So looking forward to it!

A wonderful event David McPherson and I am so grateful for this opportunity to write my monograph The End of Desire: Meaning, Nihilism, and God. About to embark upon the final chapter!
