Full council tonight and spoke on the return of culture night. Culture night was a celebration of the arts and cultural sector in Belfast and it’s exciting to see the reboot to ensure it grows into a larger better and more sustainable event that is fully Inclusive

I attended the BelfastLieutenancy civic service to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe day. They had voices from the Second World War reading VE Day memories and lit candles for peace. It was a lovely service.

I am incredibly proud to call Cllr Micky Murray a friend and party colleague. He has represented Belfast with courage, pride, enthusiasm and openness. Watching him take on the role of Lord Mayor this past year has been has been a privilege.

High Sheriffing this morning. I got to meet with descendants from a survivor of the Titanic disaster. They have come over on a lifetime trip on the QEll, they were able to see the Titanic memorial at City Hall, get a tour and share with me pictures of his family who survived.

Speaking at the UK TVET policy seminar networking event tonight hosted by British Council. Policy makers and education leaders from 13 different countries joined by UK industry and stakeholders to explore how TVET systems can respond to challenges in today’s changing world

I had the pleasure of attending the installation of the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland tonight alongside the Deputy Lord Mayor Paul Doherty a thought provoking sermon with the current climate on unrest. Presbyterian Church congratulations and good luck for the year

I got to spend the morning at my local Holywood Arches Libraries NI with Peter McReynolds MLA to see some of the groups that use the space.Engage With Age dementia friendly group and the Knit and Knatter group. It provides a safe, warm place to meet and connect. Lots of craic was had

The Integrated Education Fund is one of my charities for the year and it was a privilege to be in Cliftonville Integrated PTFA to see all the amazing work they do. I got to sit down with some P7 pupils who had some tough and challenging questions. They should be very proud of themselves!

The Greenway can be used for so many things, walking, cycling, running but the best way is dancing along it as part of a silent disco! Thank you Walkway Community Association for the best way to end the day 💃🏻🪩.

Last night was the launch of Eastside Arts festival 2025. The festival brings people together, celebrates local voices and shows us how powerful the arts can be in building up our communities. It runs from the 24th July- 2nd August

I had a little help this morning with the big clean up for Walkway Community Association. Getting the play park, walkway and surrounding areas clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy over the summer.

A busy day at Belfast City Council an honour to attend the Somme commemoration as High Sheriff and finishing the day at the last full Council for the Summer.

Last Saturday I had the privilege of laying a wreath at the annual ceremony of remembrance at the Irish National War memorial Gardens.

At the launch of BrightUmbrella new season programme. A great mix of theatre and events. An amazing space in East that has something for everyone.

The little one was playing in Flora street playpark at the weekend and it was in a bit of a state. I have reported it to our cleansing team who will be out to clean it and to get the swing replaced. If you know of other play parks that need cleaned let me know.

It was an honour to be part of the Comhaltas Fleadh Cheoil in Wexford alongside the Lord Mayor Lord Mayor of Belfast Tracy Kelly Belfast has big shoes to fill but we will make sure our diverse and rich culture will be inclusive of everyone I’m pretty sure it will be the best Fleadh yet.
