Today is the first-ever International Day Against Transnational Organized Crime. To mark it, we've partnered with Italy in Thailand & Chulalongkorn U., among others, and given students a platform to #StopOrganizedCrime through awareness-raising campaigns.

In Malaysia🇲🇾, UN Office on Drugs & Crime is helping 50+ civil society stakeholders from South & Southeast Asia build skills & knowledge to counter organized crime, with a 3-day workshop on effective #UNTOC implementation, supported by US US Dept of State INL🇺🇸.


United Nations in Malaysia Resident Coordinator Karima El Korri said, “Crime erodes the rule of law. Engaging stakeholders beyond governments is essential to counter organized crime.” UN Office on Drugs & Crime’s Billy Batware & Daniela Dora Eilberg emphasised UNTOC as the 🔑instrument for int’l cooperation in this area.


Youth empowerment meets regional collaboration! On the final day of UN Office on Drugs & Crime’s regional workshop, participants from South & Southeast Asia refined prototype initiatives to counter organized crime & explored practical ways to meaningfully engage youth in civil society efforts.
