Delighted to write this blog for Clare Cable QNIS about maternal & infant food insecurity as it emerged in our @nhscharity study with parents & early years health professionals about income maximisation. A public health issue that urgently needs more attention!

Great 2 C this messaging by @FEED to Infant Feeding APPG about the importance maternal household food security as a pre-requisite for infant food security, regardless of whether parents choose to breast or formula feed. Dr. Lesley Frank work on this issue in Canada is worth noting too.

Good 2 see a focus on socio-economic & political determinants of infant feeding practices, & the need for govts & society 2 adequately value infant feeding labour. That ‘breastfeeding is not cost free’ was also a welcome message 2 hear @ #ProtectBreastfeeding The Lancet launch!
