The Golden Gate Bridge opened to the public for the first time on this day in 1937. 200,000+ people paid 25¢ to walk the bridge, equal to about $5.50 in today's dollars. The next day it opened to cars. This footage is from the Prelinger Archives, acquired by the Library in 2002.
